Jannie uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, session continuity, language, theme, and requested preferences.
Attendance diagnostics without Clarity cookies
Microsoft Clarity starts when a contractor opens a production clock-in or clock-out page, in English or Spanish, including visits with no error. It does not load on attendance login/panel, staff, portal, operations, or the public website.
The Clarity project has Cookies Off. Jannie also sends denied signals for both advertising and analytics storage using Consent API V2. This configuration does not authorize Clarity first-party or third-party cookies; Clarity should not create _clck or _clsk cookies. Essential Jannie storage remains separate.
Cookies Off does not stop all collection. Clarity can collect page views, interactions, device/browser and performance data, connection IP/approximate location, and masked replay data where available. A hashed contractor UUID and readable short contractor reference support troubleshooting searches even without cookies. Cookie denial limits continuity; it does not make these diagnostics anonymous.
Microsoft documents limited functionality without consent, including limits to full replay and user journeys. Consent requirements for full functionality apply to visits from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Jannie does not send a granted signal or work around these restrictions. A recording of every visit cannot be guaranteed.
Purpose, protection, and provider
Jannie uses this integration to troubleshoot clocking problems. Page content is strictly masked, and custom events contain only allowlisted technical markers. Names, phone numbers, PINs, tokens, precise GPS, photos, location IDs, payloads, and raw backend errors are excluded from Jannie’s Clarity instrumentation. See the Privacy Policy for the data, identifiers, access, international processing, and retention details.
Microsoft is an independent controller under the Clarity Terms, not a Jannie subprocessor. Microsoft receives personal data for Microsoft Advertising and may use it for other purposes under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Denied cookie storage does not establish that Microsoft acts only on Jannie’s instructions or that all advertising-related processing is excluded.
Clarity retains playback for 30 days; labeled/favorited sessions and heatmap/click data have 9-month retention. See Microsoft’s retention documentation.
Choices
Browser controls can block cookies or third-party scripts. Blocking Clarity does not prevent clocking; blocking essential Jannie storage may prevent login or other requested functions. Blocking cookies alone does not stop cookie-free diagnostics. The on-page notice is informational, not a consent control.
For requests about Jannie’s diagnostics, contact contact@jannie.app. Microsoft’s privacy statement provides its own choices. Any legally required consent or opt-out mechanism must be implemented for the applicable deployment; cookie denial alone is not a determination that consent is unnecessary.
